Indexed datasets.
Read one field.

Build a static dataset from JSON, then retrieve the stored value your application needs, from disk or through an ordinary HTTP byte-range request.

How a field is retrieved

01

Build your collection

Turn JSON records into a data file and an index. Keep the data on disk, object storage, or a CDN.

02

Locate one value

Use a record ID and a top-level field name. The index locates that stored value without a full dataset download.

03

Retrieve the byte range

The reader decodes the selected value. HTTP hosting must support 206 Partial Content responses.

Prepared data for repeated reads

Use RIDA for catalogues, translations, help centres, directories, and reference archives that are prepared ahead of time and read repeatedly.

Use a database for live writes, transactions, joins, and dynamic queries. A project can use both for different parts of its data.
